India Mark II Pump
As per IS: 9301, Spares as per IS: 14105 - 1994 & IS: 14103-1994
 
The hand pump consists of Pump Head, Handle, Water Tank, Stand, Riser Pipes, Connecting Rods and Cylinder, all conforming to the Bureau of Indian Standard's specification IS : 9301. 125 mm stroke length of the handle provides a water discharge of 1150 litres per hour with the cylinder installed in the range of 15 m to 45 m below-ground level. Special tools and Standard tools for installation, Masonry tools and Shuttering for Platform construction are available. Also, Fishing tools, Village level maintenance tools and Spare parts kits for two or five year's normal operation can be supplied.
 
 
 
India Mark III Pump
As per IS: 13056-1994, Spares as per IS: 14105 - 1994 & IS: 14103-1994
 
This pump is a modified version of the India Mark II, based on the "VLOM" concept, strongly promoted by World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP and other development aid organisations during the drinking water and sanitation decade. "VLOM" means "Village Level Operation and Maintenance" management by users, especially women. According to the VLOM concept, a hand pump has to be robust and reliable under field conditions, cost effective, and lastly be maintainable by users at village level.
